Guest Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Just come on this site (not that way) and heard loads of names I used to know, and descriptions of people I think I recognise. Mike Phoenix (responsible for getting hundreds into northern soul with his do's all over town. Great fella.) And Nick S, is this the Nick I'm thinking of? Used to see you now and again in the very early days Swinton Beehive when you were with those Bury boys, Mill and co? I saw you outside a City game at Reading 12 years ago. We were filming) Chris Carr (my ex best mate. We used to practice moves in his kitchen before nighters until his mum came in bollocked us for ruining her floor.) Mark Walmsely (Mark, it's me, I used to work at Royds with your ex) Gary Taylor (knew his brother better but can't remember his name strangely) The big fella from Cumbria who looked like a Maori. Funny guy. Grey tracky bottoms. Never knew his name but a great character. Tommy from Preston. Paul from Salford (hardly narrows it down). Paul from Bradford with the shiny shoes (Who I think is the Paul Harris on this forum.) Aughey from Rochdale. Neil and Steve (came over all anti-scooter, not that way) from Bury. Gilly and Bryony from Leeds/Holland. Gary from Huddersfield. And of course, Steve from Huddersfield, who is everyhere these days I believe. While I'm at it, is the Willie Mercer people mention the tall ginger guy who always wore black bags and a thin blue vest who I knew then as Big Willie (not that way)? And, does anyone remember Hutch from somewhere in the North East? An astounding dancer, best I've ever seen. Tall, muscuar blond guy. Used to go to Bank Hall, Warrington, Carousel, Morecambe and all that. Just realised I have no point with this email. I'll end it there. But ahhhh, it was nice to write all that down. Sean Doyle
Guest nick s Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Hello Mr Doyle (right chap I presume) it could well be me that you describe. Still sit with Mr Phoenix at City and recently back in touch with Paul Barnes(from Salford). Now live in Cheltenham so don't get back all that often. There are others on here that you may recognise, some, due to dodgy names will be more difficult to work out than others. Took me a while to work out who Reg was, I won't spoil it fot either of you! Currently at work so unable to dwell but will be in touch. Hope things
Guest ang b Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 paul barnes from salford, is that him ? he is still on the scene, if thats him thats my hubby
Reg Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Hiya...I'm trying to think if I remember you...I know/knew Chris Carr very well and he was out and about a bit a couple of years ago. He still wasn't very well and last thing I knew he was in and out of hospital. I took him to Lifeline a a few other nighters but he seems to have disappeared again and his mobile number doesn't work. Nick S and Mike....seen em on and off over the years at City and the odd niter...last time was at Middleton and let's just say they haven't changed!!! Even though Nick is masquerading as somebody with a university education nowadays!!! Steve from Huddersfield...well you can't avoid him if you go out on a regular basis he's now engaged to the lovely Lydia...Who else? I still see Eileen who's Joe's sister if you remember Joe the Nurse? He used to go to parr Hall and similar venues to the rest of us....sure there's tonnes more....Malcolm Talcum...still stomping every month in his vest and flares at Bury....Martin the Mod...still running clubs and wearing tight suits at places like the Thirsty Scholar in town..... You may remember me by my sensible name Sharron-I used to be a mod and hung around with another girl called Julie who everybody fancied....they probably still do..she's known as Shuffler on here but she's not around much nowadays.... Bye for now!!!! Reggie
Reg Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Just remembered who you mean by Neil and Steve from Bury...Neil and Steve Berry! Steve got into bikes and presented Top gear for a while didn't he?

Guest Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Reggie? Reg? Can't place you. You weren't one of those two modette girls both with short black hair, from Manchester obviously? Or were you the other mate of Rowena and Heather from Stockport. Bloody hell. Malcolm Powder is still around?! I thought he'd have drilled a hole to the centre of the earth with that dancing style of his. And yes, them's the Berries I was on about. Co-presented Top Gear or something like that. And Mr Salmon person, do I know you? You from Rochdale? You know Aughey, so it's just a guess. Sean Doyle
