Guest Adam G Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Sisters Love "I'm learning to trust my man" has a pretty long hold too Patti laBelles version of "stay in my corner" has one of the longest held notes I have heard Im afraid to say she goes longer than Marvin jnrs.I have a sneakster that she may have had engineers help to elongate it!.
Epic Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Bill Withers - Lovely Day - right at the end seems to hold the note forever!!!
Pete S Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Sisters Love "I'm learning to trust my man" has a pretty long hold too Thats the one I thought of straight away too
John Reed Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) Bill Withers - Lovely Day - right at the end seems to hold the note forever!!! Bill Withers held the world record with 18 seconds (but that was on a "Hit" record) until 2000 when A-Ha beat him. https://www.everyhit.com/record7.html I always thought the end of Ebo's - I'd Rather Be By Myself, was very long. Edited September 14, 2007 by John Reed
Paul McKay Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I think Marvin Junior on the 20th Century remake of Stay in my corner is even longer.

Steve G Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 that should keep you busy for the morning then Steve Not me Chalky - only have a minute hand on my watch.
Steve G Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Not me Chalky - only have a minute hand on my watch. I presume we're talking about "natural" note holds - only mentioned it because there's a track on the Passion LP on Preldude that has a continuous note hold on it, but it's obviously programmed
