In My Opinion one of the greatest 70's sounds and often classed as rare groove but I

just wondered how rare a 7" of this is as over the last 10 years ive tried to find a copy and never came across one until recently offered one by Dave and Bri Pinches and of course bought it....... but does it get played anywhere.

I know its on the Sinbad album but the single seems scarce

Yep played it on Bank Holiday Sunday.

Will be playing it this Weekend as well.

Went down a storm at Soul Essence.

The Album I would say is harder than the 7.

Great little record. Good Shout Sir :D

I got the 45 from Mr Thorley, who had a few as I remember. But had a tough time getting the Album.

I saw lots of reissues but the OG I had a tough time.

Darn Sarf great ! Not played it North of Watford ?

Playing in Preston in November, will have to give it a go :D

Remember buying it back in the day for about 30p - me & me mates have always liked it - choonage of the highest order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You bet it gets played :D Well by me anyway. Not sure it fits in with a lot of playlists I see for what is described as "modern".

There was another version which came out about two years ago. Unfortunately, I can't remember who by. Not a bad version if I remember.

The LP was re-issued a few years ago on BMG. Would'nt mind a 7" but ultimately not bothered what format. To answer the question I would say the 7" is rarer. Just a gut instinct no real evidence.

Great great tune, Don Blackman on vocals.

Me mate (Stan) plays in a local cafe/bar every week. Think I am up there in November while the Mrs is shopping in N.Y. Gonna have a boys weekend :D

Hi Alan Yes the remix was done by a band called - As One - there was a write up that mentioned they wanted to keep it as close as the original as poss with a modern feel I think they did i have a copy of that its not bad at all

Wonderful record.

I have an album copy.

Infact the whole album is perfect wine in the back garden music.

and on the subject of don blackman, check the esperanto album on soul jazz from 95, containing 'glad that you were mine', also on a 12, but theres plenty of good tracks on the album.

the 45 under discussion is now way rarer than the album. i'll rephrase that. it's way harder than the album, neither are really that rare at all.

I love the Weldon Irvine and Don Blackman stuff.

this album came out a few years back to no interest whatsoever as far as i can gather, features previously unreleased (i think) material including the don blackman track featured on the link. if you like a mellow stepper it's for you

cheers Sutty

I can only join in on this. Great track that's been a favourite for years.

And I got a copy of the LP for sale. If anyone need it?
