mischief Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Ok I keep forgetting.. This is the right way round isn't it? (okeh 45's) large 45 small rpm = Original all the same size = reissue Many thanks
Scallybob Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Correct. Usually. But there are soom boots with big "45" on them and boot demos but they tend to be vinyl and not styrene and anyone can tell they're not real. I think the ZTSC number is always stamped on originals as it is on Columbia records.
Craig W Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 The Columbia 2nd issues with the small 45 also have stamped matrix numbers in the run out groove.

Scallybob Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Actaully it's not. Look at the attachment. I always thought the last letter indicated the pressing plant and assumed Okeh records were pressed in Chicago.
Scallybob Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 And this one, and "Too Late" is the same.
Scallybob Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 https://capitolsoulclub.homestead.com/PressingPlants.html I knew there was something about this on the web somewhere, check this link. Me, I'm going to get out more.
Scallybob Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I just read that link myself and noticed there's no mention of JZSP in all that. I've also checked Lee David and Shirley Ellis and they both have JZSP as well. The only ZTSC seem to be Detroit labels like Groovesville and Ric-Tic. It won't keep me awake but anyone know about this?
Guest fleetwoodsoul Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 too late big 45 scratched matrix is it a boot
