Guest Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I heard a record played at a splinter do at the IOW scooter rally over the bank holiday. It was on a black/gold MGM label and I think the artist was Reg Martin and the title of the track was along the lines of 'I travelled the world'? Sounded like a white record? Any info would be much appreciated. PS Have tried Manship/Pat Brady searches to no avail.

Guest NASHEE Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Well didnt expect an immediate response with sound clip, very impressed. Thanks very much this is definitely the right tune. Did you manage to get a copy from Joe? 'pikeys dog'
Guest Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Did you manage to get a copy from Joe? 'pikeys dog' Hi Linda, Hope I can call you Linda. I was offered one at £75 and another by Veepman? at £50 both near mint. The truth is I dont tend to buy the 45's, sounds shite I know. I have loved the music for twenty years, danced the dance, sang along to the songs and attended the do's but to have a good collection costs sooooo much cash these days! I just have too many other hobbies that my wallet has to attend to! Thats not to say I dont have a few dusty 45's knocking about most are re-pressings and cheapies that I bought back along. I guess £30 is about as much as I would run to in order to own a copy of Ric Martin. Thanks for your interest and info. Regards Steve

Chalky Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I've seen it listed/in a box for more than £75.... Each to their own but IMHO it's one of the worst records I've ever heard
Guest SteveSnow Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I sold a black issue on eBay for just over £100 a couple of years ago - how pleased was I?! I've never seen another issue though, so I guess that's why. great tune btw - I've still got a demo that I bought 'blind' a few years ago in a box of promos. I'd never heard of it before and thought I'd turned up a nice little undiscovered gem.............only to quickly discover that it was long-since quite well known. Steve
Craig W Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I,ve got The Ric Martin track on a 3 track 20th anniversary soul allnighter Hamburg 2003 45. The other tracks are Do to me and Dance by yourself. I Havent got a clue what this is worth but would imagine it was less expensive than a MGM one.

Guest Richard Bergman Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I've seen it listed/in a box for more than £75.... Each to their own but IMHO it's one of the worst records I've ever heard File under Andy Williams.

Guest Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Glad to see I sparked a debate around Mr Martins output. After a few listens I feel that it goes on a little too long but it has a marching beat and my love of it was down to watching my ten year old son dancing to it at a little Hotel bash on the IOW scooter rally. Anyone know whether it has ever been included on any compilation CD's?? Regards to All Steve
