NUFCSOUL Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I know the boot/counterfeit was a white demo - but what about the red promo? Seen two versions - One with bold writing with the title at the top and stating PROMOTIONAL NOT FOR SALE on the right hand side. One in finer writing with the artist name at the top and stating D J COPY NOT FOR SALE this one is moulded over label. Can't find anything to say they are not 2 official releases - maybe different pressing times or plants? Thanks in advance for any clarification. Tony

Tony Hi Tony I would guess two different pressing plants. Each DEMO normally should have a Stock Copy. Also East Coast / West Coast Pressing Plants were Involved. The East Coast DEMO of "Night Owl" pictured here is on Vinyl. Noticably the Artists Name is at the top and the Title at the bottom. The Stock Copy is on Styrene and is West Coast, the opposite appears to happen on the West Coast press, with the Title at the top & The Artists name at the bottom. ---------------------------------------------------------------STOCK COPY This DEE DEE SHARP has at least 2 DEMO's, I am told that a White DEMO exists for DEE DEE SHARP The Stock Copy for Night Owl in the picture above, should have a DEMO which I suspect may be like the DEE DEE SHARP Red DEMO below. NUFCSOUL Posted September 2, 2007 Author Posted September 2, 2007 I know I did a - thanks in advance - but, what an answer!! I know it's been said many a time but it makes me think we should have a section of info like this. Search by artist name record etc and where you can see and hear all known versions along with all the bootlegs/counterfeits etc. A few years worth of work but worth it when you're spending hard earned cash on the the shiny black stuff! Cheers Roger - nice one and.... mines an East coast!
