And what price would anyone place on an issue? Seems to be pretty rare...

Can anyone refresh me with the story of the unreleased acetate LP with the long version. Or is this all that's to know, basically?

Inferior to what???

I don't know!

When I posted that for some reason I thought there was another version by Dusty - then when I got home I realised that I was thinking of "What's It Gonna Be" another great RCA track. And then I forgot about my post. But then you sussed me!

Did I have to thinking - or did you just think iriot?

:D

Mike (The main man) Hughes played this out on Sunday, sounded bloody great! Would fit nicely into a slightly funky spot with Angela Davis, Gloria Walker, Luscious Three etc. Anyone got a spare copy?

Wasn't the original copy some sort of RCA test press LP, or did I imagine that?

Nearly there, it came out over here on a cheap Rca l.p and was played by most d.j's in the 70's off that l,p-also included change your ways, devils drive? im leaving j nash, all for 15 shillings or just under

yes, german RCA test pressing of a complete judy freeman & blackrock album that to my knowledge remained unissued (and was shite anyway). i didn't get it from ebay but from an ex-sound engineer who used to work for german RCA in cologne...

Not quite right. It was only included on the RCA Northern Soul compilation album because it HAD already been played a fair bit, though as Richard Searling observed in his sleeve notes, there were not many copies around, so it never really had time to go huge before being included on the UK album. It was played in 1976 at the Mecca though, and I have someone playing it on a tape I did at a Birmingham Locarno Alldayer in that year. And what a side it is, with fabulous vocals and chilling lyrics too. One of my faves, (naturally)

Agree, an absolute anthem that can be played on a few different scenes

I like her other 45 on RCA too (Don't do it anymore) - Is this on that acetate LP too, anyone got a track listing?

Cheers

Steve

So what price for an issue, then? Nobody wanting to stick their neck out, pretty rare I'd reckon...

Yes I agree very rare on an issue - hard to price in todays SWONS
