Cover-up
Does anyone have a current value on this please. And what price would anyone place on an issue? Seems to be pretty rare... Can anyone refresh me with the story of the unreleased acetate LP with the long version. Or is this all that's to know, basically? Link to comment Social source share

Peter99
It certainly is a top tune - great lyrics, great vocals - and THE version in my book. I can't believe some people think this inferior. Link to comment Social source share

Peter99
Inferior to what??? I don't know! When I posted that for some reason I thought there was another version by Dusty - then when I got home I realised that I was thinking of "What's It Gonna Be" another great RCA track. And then I forgot about my post. But then you sussed me! Did I have to thinking - or did you just think iriot? Link to comment Social source share

Would fit nicely into a slightly funky spot with Angela Davis, Gloria Walker, Luscious Three etc. Anyone got a spare copy? Link to comment Social source share

Benji
Wasn't the original copy some sort of RCA test press LP, or did I imagine that? yes, german RCA test pressing of a complete judy freeman & blackrock album that to my knowledge remained unissued (and was shite anyway). i didn't get it from ebay but from an ex-sound engineer who used to work for german RCA in cologne... It was only included on the RCA Northern Soul compilation album because it HAD already been played a fair bit, though as Richard Searling observed in his sleeve notes, there were not many copies around, so it never really had time to go huge before being included on the UK album. It was played in 1976 at the Mecca though, and I have someone playing it on a tape I did at a Birmingham Locarno Alldayer in that year. And what a side it is, with fabulous vocals and chilling lyrics too. One of my faves, (naturally) Link to comment Social source share
