You should be rejoicing...those tales of people smoking dope at the back of the Casino...ah I can still smell it now. NOT.

No, I'm telling you that the author said that the air at the Casino was thick with dope smoke which I somehow seem to have missed on the 80 or so visits I made

There's definately a bit of licence in his writing but i'm trying to get hold of another copy for a friend who was on the Blackpool scene around that time and remembers a lot of the names i mentioned from the book. :shades:

Read it years ago, thought he must have gone to a different Casino to the one I frequented from start to finish. Dope smoking? That was for hippies! Tried just about everything going at that time, what with the constant supply from 'knocked over' chemists, was never offered any dope! Lent my copy to someone years ago, and never got it back either, fortunatly! laugh.gif

Thank you Pete - I thought that maybe I'd overlooked that...never saw or smelt that inside t' Casino but thought until now that my memories were just different to his!

wasn't it more about people smoking dope after the allnighters to come down?

No we had other stuff for that...never touched dope, it just didn't appear in the circles we moved in, might have done later but in the 70's it was never around

I can remember being offered it once or twice on the way home, but never took up the offer as I thought it might turn me into one those "druggies".

Far more healthy to stick with the output of SK&F and Riker.
