Tony Smith Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Who played it and when. Richard, about the same time as Cobblestone was c/u as Tempos.

Mal C Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is it me, or is this track very cheap, or are shrine records overpriced? M
Guest andyrattigan Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 One of my all time favourite 6t's stormers. If I had the loot it would be in the post to you now
Pauldonnelly Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is it me, or is this track very cheap, or are shrine records overpriced? M one a month on ebay now.
Ian Seaman Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Yeah Paul's right, more then 1 a month on ebay now, Shrine stuff not quite as rare as we thought eh !! Ian.
Benji Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Yeah Paul's right, more then 1 a month on ebay now, Shrine stuff not quite as rare as we thought eh !! Ian. speaking of rare shrine 45s, does anyone know if shirley edwards was ever re-issued? i somehow have a feeling my chances of ever getting an original are rather bad ... PS. checked popsike for shrine 45s, loads of them on ebay but most in rather bad condition. i guess it's not hard to find any shrine records, it's hard to find them in playable condition...
Ady Potts Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 PS. checked popsike for shrine 45s, loads of them on ebay but most in rather bad condition. i guess it's not hard to find any shrine records, it's hard to find them in playable condition... Exactly. Also because they are very brittle styrene you can have a mint looking Shrine that hisses all the way through. I've got a mint looking Enjoyables & one that looks vg- & it's the vg- one that plays the best. At least with Mikes copy of the Cautions you know you are getting one that plays nice. Sounds a bargain to me. By the way, I know this is not the time & place to go into an in depth discussion about it, but some of the Shrines actually had two presses at two different pressing plants, & that includes things like Shirley Edwards, Sidney Hall, etc.. Some were Bell Sound pressed/stamped. Lot of facts about the label yet to emerge. pottsy
davidwapples Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 wasnt there a fair few copies that turned up in the big haul of tracks in the usa a couple of years back
Harrogatesoul Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 So the rumour mill goes (Along with many other big titles) David but as always open to speculation / lies / jealousy etc etc Rich

They just did that one recently, whoever they are??? Mal:) Edited August 23, 2007 by Mal.C.
Benji Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 They just did that one recently, whoever they are??? Mal:) they did one with ray pollard's "this time" on the flip. but i meant a "proper" reissue, i.e. with the original flipside. its one of my alltime favourites and among the best tracks shrine ever issued (IMHO). anyone with 600 dpi scans of both sides of the shirley edwards 45? i'm off to vinyl carvers in a minute
Mal C Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 A proper re issue...? no they haven't done one.. I'm like yourself; its an absolute top Beat ballad need but a tad expensive, beggars cant be choosers I'm afraid Benji...you will just have to put up with Ray at your back door... Mal
grant Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Richard, about the same time as Cobblestone was c/u as Tempos. Alan Rhodes was also spinning this at the same time Tony
Prophonics 2029 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Don't remember it being played, Eddie Daye yes Cobblestones yes. There was a Shirley Edwards on Ebay 4 weeks ago missed it ending.
