Guest Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Agree 100% with the ones by Dee Dee Sharp before mentioned, but the one by Dee Dee that makes me really almost to cry is the last part of "What Color Is Love" with the mellow high trumpet notes! And here's some others: -"Tune Up" - The Dramatics -"Sparkle" - Curtis Mayfield -"Goodbye My Love" - Angelo Bond -"Love Comes In All Sizes" - Chi-lites -"Billy's Back Home" - Billy Paul -"The Moments Of Our Lives" - Billy Paul -"The Coldest Days Of My Life" - Chi-lites -"She's A Rainmaker" - Dramatics -"You're Not In Love" - Carmen Lundy (again, great mellow trumpet notes, this time by Randy Brecker!) -"Bitter Sweet" - MFSB -"Angie" - Stevie Wonder -"Being With You" - Smokey Robinson -"Eli's Love Theme" - Isaac Hayes -"It's Heaven To Me" - Isaac hayes -"Light My Fire" - Clarence Carter And many more to come, friends (I am so sentimental...!)

Guest Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 lets keep em coming, thats what its all about! Thanks for the invitation to keep it coming, dear Mrs. Soul Soul Music without those "mellow" tracks were not soul music... I also cry (or almost) with these others: -"Regina" - Bunny Sigler -"Oh Lord, Why Lord?" - Phil Trim (from spanish's Los Pop Tops) and also by Brook Benton -"Mamy Blue" - Los Pop Tops feat. Phil Trim -"Warm & Tender" - Percy Sledge -"Let It All Out" - The O'Jays (my favorite Van McCoy composition) -"Smoke In Your Eyes" - The Platters -"Gonna Be Strong" - The Intruders -"Hurt So Bad" - Little Anthony & The Imperials -"First Time I Ever Saw your Face" - The Chi-lites -"Virgin Girl" - Soul Survivors -"A Child Is Born" - Johnny Mathis -"Cold Cold World" - Teddy Pendergrass -"Misunderstood" - Incognito -"The Newness Is Gone" - Eddie kendricks -"This Is Your Life" - Jerry Butler (a great mellow ballad writed by Lionel Ritchie, with these mellow effect, children laughin at the beach...) -"Vivo Sonhando" - Jobim (one of the most mellow instrumentals i ever heard!) -"What The Word's Is Coming To" - Dexter Wansel (another time this mellow effect, children at the beach...!) -"Were Ther's A Will, There's A Way" - Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes -"Veracruz" - Stanley Turrentine -"Adam's Hotel" - Deodato -"Pavane For A Dead Princess" - Deodato (a precious cover of Maurice Ravel!) -"Woman Of Ireland" - Bob James (the flute of the intro can make cry the Ice!!) (I'll keep to posting later; now i need a kleenex!!)

slimharpo Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Jimmy Justice - Burgundy, Port & Red Wine - A Drifters type dancer on B&C. Great chorus - Burgundy Port & Wine it goes to my head when she's on my mind, making me feel like a king, when deep down inside me I don't feel a thing. Priceless.

Guest Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Totally agree with the ones by Jery Butler! I have mentioned some one by him before but wnat to add "Smile" (the Chaplin tune!) and also "Tell Me Girl". And how I have forget "Never Repay Your Love" by Anthony White or "Now Or Never" by Little Dooley (Silverspoon)! There are also two more instrumentals one of wich with "tears" on the title, both by the same artsist under different name: "Tears In The Morning" (MFSB feat. D. Wansel) and "Alpha Centauri" by Salsoul Orchestra.

Guest Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Here's a few more: -The cover of standar "On A Clear Day" by UK group Pedlers (what a cool voice and mellow feel) -Original version of "I Need You Baby" by Henry Stefan (in english and also spanish versions; Henry's voice is similar to the vocalist on the group Pedlers) -Somebody mentioned "Ship Ahoy"; I agree is a mellow one, but the special effects are IMHO some "artificial"; IMHO the real mellow track on the Ship Ahoy album is "Don't Call Me Brother" -"I'm Searching For A Love" by Sharon Paige
