Steve Plumb Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Hi All I've just had the pleasure of listening to a most amazing unreleased Northern Soul dancer! Sounds late 60's with a brill vocal, pounding beat, plenty of horns and a great song with a strong hook line too!!!!! I think it's got legs, so will give it a spin this Friday at The Orwell and let those more knowledgable than meself see if it's got the right ingredients to be played at current Northern venues! Watch this space and I'll report back at the weekend Cheers Steve
Ezzie Brown Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 is this an attempt to get us all to turn up? its better to just play it quietly out and see the reaction, some folk will go mad for it cause its unknown , wether its any good or not, and that is a personal choice isnt it! anyway hope everyne does like it, at least u r playing something different, take to the casino do and blast it to um there!!!!!!!!!!1 ezzie
Dave Rimmer Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Hi All Sounds late 60's with a brill vocal, pounding beat, plenty of horns and a great song with a strong hook line too!!!!! Cheers Steve So if it sounds late '60s, when was it recorded ? and will it be released on the Boardwalk label ?
Steve Plumb Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 So if it sounds late '60s, when was it recorded ? and will it be released on the Boardwalk label ? Sorry Dave, I mislead you IT IS late 60's - not 'sounds late 60's' - I meant it in a 'could be very early 70's but more than likely late 60's' stylee, rather than the suggestion that it's just been made to sound 'late 60's' - sorry for the confusion! And no it wasn't a plug to say turn up on Friday as it's the only place you'll hear it - I'm not that synical! imho It's a brill track that i think has got mileage on the Northern scene, which i'm sure it will do when heard! Cheers Steve
Guest Baz Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I've got a set of big bolox too Whats the point if no one knows who or what it is or even sounds like? Sound clip?

Cheers Steve I guessed that was the case, but couldn't resist teasing you about it. If I'd got something that I thought was that good I'd tell people they had to turn up Friday to hear it

Simon T Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 So what was it like then, played out? Or did you need a V.I.P. ticket to be able to listen to it Any chance of a sound clip now? Artist, title etc?
Steve Plumb Posted August 30, 2007 Author Posted August 30, 2007 So what was it like then, played out? Or did you need a V.I.P. ticket to be able to listen to it Any chance of a sound clip now? Artist, title etc? ...............weeeeeeell, I was on last hour and 'out and out' Northern wasn't called for, so it stayed in the box (or the CD case). I put the night in front of the ego How's that for an anti-climax It's real quality, so it'll still be as good when it finally does get played out! It's forthcoming for a label, so I can't post it yet til i get permission BUT i will as soon as I can! Famous last words i know, but hopefully, once promos are made available it'll become popular on the Northern scene! Cheers Steve

Surley the company won't object to you posting a sound file here as if it's a good as you say it may generate some future sale?
