Alamo Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Hi All, Basically, is the original on vinyl or styrene and is there a stamped or etched matrix. Any other things to look for? Thankyou in advance - Al

Chalky Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Been offered one. Ive personally never seen one but had the reissue copy. Just need to know what the hallmarks of originals are. Ta the look alike boot if I remember rightly has Taking My Mind Off Love on the flip which actually came out on Whip. I'll Get Off At the Next Stop is the flip to the Fee release.

Stubbsy Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Original has a number stamped in dead wax. Looks something like UR1651-A. Bloody hell my eye sight
Alamo Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Original has a number stamped in dead wax. Looks something like UR1651-A. Bloody hell my eye sight Thanks Stubbsy. Strange you mention the eye sight. I think Im in need of reading glasses! Ive had a good run of 47 years without them but it is getting harder. The 9 points on my licence are all down to speed signs. Im sure they all say 70!
Soul Shrews Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 "I'll Get off At The Next Stop" is one fantastic flipside Cheers Paul; PS Check out the LP "A"int Givin' Up" (Coup) too

Thankyou in advance - Al Original is on Vinyl, matrix is scratched in UR 1551-A, flip is "I'll get off at the next stop"
Alamo Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Original is on Vinyl, matrix is scratched in UR 1551-A, flip is "I'll get off at the next stop" Thats terrific. Thanks for all the responses! Al
Stubbsy Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Original is on Vinyl, matrix is scratched in UR 1551-A, flip is "I'll get off at the next stop" I was close then. Perhaps my eyes not quite as bad as I thought
Peter99 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I think this is a great double sider. I sold one a few years back without playing the flip - Next Stop. Somone on here posted a clip up for me - I can't remember who it was now. Anyway - whilst doing some renovation work on the house recently I found another one - unfortuntately under a pile of rubble from the demolished chimney breast! What's this fetch now - I think I sold my mint one for fifty - perhaps six years ago?

Peter99 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 There are a few records I am after and I have a sledge hammer. A match made in heaven then. You can have my broken one for seventy quid - you won't have to use your sledge hammer.
Prophonics 2029 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 The LP is a different version than the single, shorter and in the mix but I am not that sure where.

Prophonics 2029 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 You've lost me now! Sad Girl is on the carol Anderson LP but its a 1981 LP I will post the clip up later
Peter99 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Sad Girl is on the carol Anderson LP but its a 1981 LP I will post the clip up later Aha! I thought you wanted to do a Pete Smith with the record!
Prophonics 2029 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Aha! I thought you wanted to do a Pete Smith with the record! I hope its not rude, seen one guy on here with a record up his arse.
Peter99 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I hope its not rude, seen one guy on here with a record up his arse. No - it's not rude - well maybe to the artist involved! Pete hates the Carstairs record - and (now) infamously smashed one up with a hammer and posted the picks!
