Md Records Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Different "Uptown" label, Ducky & Glowlighters "Uptown" label is out of Philadelphia. Des Parker
Guest Johnny Mack Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Actually played that Ducky and the Glowlighters record earlier today and frankly I think its a crock ! Very rare but very average ! Tommy Dodson a much better record imho Different Uptown label by the way - j/g distributed. Anyone else share the same opinion on D & G - Another case of rarity overtaking quality John Thanks Al Great record! ps. wonder if Ian ever had a Ducky & The Glowlighters??
Wiganer1 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Also a Gary Rushbrooke spin from early Stafford, if I remember rightly. Des Parker ====== it was Des got a stafford tape of him with this on with the Delettes etc ,,but Russ played this at Wigan several years before...
Corbett80 Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 So TD on the Ambassadors Uptown label, Ducky on a different Uptown? I quite like the record myself!
Md Records Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I love "Ducky" - it's messy, frantic, urgent, atmospheric - all the things I like in a Northern record, though I like Tommy Dodson for the same reason, rarity DOESN'T come into the equation for me, I've got F*** all to prove, but I can understand why it would not be everybody's cup of Cappuccino. Des Parker ==== des any chance of your playlist for last Saturday? not heard the Ducky track..
Md Records Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Mark I'll try and remember what I played (it was quite late for me, as I'm a boring Bastard that doesn't drink or partake in any other stimulants) but will do my best for you, though I know I didn't play "Ducky" as it's heart attack material at that time of the night.
