Barry Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 It's funny, I remember winging about 6 or 7 of these over a field in about 1980 - I feel quite ill now.

Barry Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 (edited) why how much is it worth now? I've just seen it for £50 - I used to run a small record shop in Culcheth that had boxes and boxes of US 7"s (Dave Rimmer'll remember the shop) but they were what I would have seen as mid tempo, raw 60's small label stuff (Yeah, I know ), not quite the rigfht sound for 1981 and to add insult to injury they were 10 for a quid. Fantastice B side - "I'm sitting in". I'd go back to that field with a spade and start digging!!! gary
Guest Netspeaky Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Funky Feet have one for sale at £50, both sides great, features the Don Gardner Orchestra.
Paul R Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 For years I had the memory of a track I remembered from the old north west gambling house that I though the chorus was "Your Wonderful". Bearing in mind that I only heard it at an allnighter and that was 30 odd years ago, I never knew what it was. About 3 years ago I was at one of Steve Cs does in Portsmouth, and I heard it for the first time since 74ish. They were singing "Fool To Fool". It all comes flooding back. Fantastic track. Not heard the B side though. Paul
Guest Glawsters Best Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 have to agree blinding double sider what's the difference in price between the demo to the issue
Guest Dan Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 had never played the bloody other side before, what a great tune
Guest Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 have to agree blinding double sider what's the difference in price between the demo to the issue I sold a demo for £100.
45cellar Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 (edited) got a demo but the issue looks better Yes, Interesting that they opted for a White DEMO when promoting this. Such an eye catching Label, possibly would have been a candidate for a Coloured DEMO. The White v's Coloured DEMO has always Intrigued me. Some Labels tried both options of course. also, I think that "Fool To Fool" is the Original "A Side" as the DJ Grafitti & Sticker is on that side. Having said that "I'm Sitting In" has the earlier Matrix number. -< 1028 -< 1027 I wonder if DJ's of the Day ever flipped the discs over or were stuck to playlists in the 60's. DJ's in the states flip numerous records over there are 100's of stories of the "B" side become the HIT, eventually the record companies decided that this shouldn't happen and the double sided demo started becoming the norm.

Thanks, I suppose it's the men in suits trying to control things, rather than the records artistic content. It's Good that the DJ's of the time flexed a bit of muscle and played worthwhile sides, as opposed to what they were told to. We have a radio staion playing at work, same old same old day in day out. All Chart Stuff. I love music, but you can almost set your watch to certain records been played. I had assumed that the Double Sided or Single Sided Disk used for DEMO's was a method of control, However I honestly didn't realise that the 60's DJ's could play what they wanted to play.
