Guest Kolla Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Message from Harboro' Horace..... Get your twinkling feet down to the 100 Club this Saturday Jan. 10th 1.30-8am if you want to hear one of the greatest northern discoveries of all time. Think of one of the top three classic northern instrumentals that have never had a genuine vocal. Then imagine a full male soul vocal group giving it all they've got over the top of it. This was recorded at the same time as the instrumental and has laid dormant for 35+ years. Be among the chosen few to hear and dance to it on it's first ever public appearance.
Guest Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Bloody hell.............see y'all on the floor, not so twinkle toes, Russ V
Guest ShaneH Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Anyone going to have a guess? Could be one of many tracks but I am sure a few of you could narrow it down. Won't be able to make it for the 'premiere' but would like to know all the details and opinions from the fortunate few who do manage to hear it. Maybe you can fill us in after the event, Kolla? Shane
Guest Kolla Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Have already given you as much of a clue as I'm allowed. Could it be.... Bok to Bach? Thumb a ride ? Double Cooking? Frantic escape? Harlem rumble? or Henry the mild mannered janitor ? And yep... i promise - full details will be up here on Monday.

Always thought this was a bunch of UK session musicians, so that would make it unlikely.... Unless it was Dusty or the mighty Tom Jones LOL Cheers, Joe
Guest ShaneH Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Joe, Bok to Bach (Fathers Angels) were a white Italian group from the US who were formed by a local priest according to legend. That nice lad from Edward Street told me this! LOL Shane

Guest Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 Would go for 6x6 myself always rumers in the early 70s about a vocal by Tony ? called my room is 6x6 about a guy in Prision, but turned out to be bullshit ?. Other choice would be a proper vocal to Checkerboard Sqrs by the Magicians the clue could be Genuine as this had a crap boot vocal done. But imagine a vocal to Thumb a Ride that would be somthing. Regards Ian
Mattbolton Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Well welll well. Who'd have thought Double Cookin? Well a few of you it seems. It's ok actually. Nice to hear it out the can tho.... Did anyone else have a DYNAMITE 100 Club?! it's was amazing.... Matty.....

Regards Ian There is a "genuine" vocal already of 6x6. Its a motown acetate and John Pugh owns it, I think he spun it at the 100 Club too some years ago. Oh, and it's utter shite too, absolutely terrible.
