Mike Lofthouse Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Not sure if I mentioned this one - fantastic spots from Alan Rhodes and especially John Vincent september 23rd 1975 - wigan casino 2nd anniversary https://www.raresoul.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=11 I was at this night - did they not record Tommy Hunt this night and then repeat the exercise the following week? Technical reasons they said - I just think it made a lot of money It's fantastic stuff - you really forget out big, brash and in your face it was back then ...and every week!! Hundreds of teenagers (with full heads of hair) going mad! It's interesting the play list - nails the lie about 'split' not quite exclusively 60's stompers that are associated with the place - Skullsnaps, Anderson Brothers, Liberty, Frankie Crocker etc and even by '75 playing Levine productions and whatever happened to instrumentals? Girl You Better Wake Up, Ton of Dynamite, and The Champion - you just couldn't play them now etc etc Thanks Mike
