This maybe an ambitious post which relies on a fairly decent memory I presume !

But here it goes !

I'd like to ask my fellow soul source peeps to think in all years of collecting what tune they would input into the various price brackets as best value for money tune ? Or simply the best £ tune you've bought!

You can only choose one for each ? And you can keep going if you must !

Price Brackets are :

£10 - Love Potion - This Love - Kapp demo

£50 - Jimmy Preacher Ellie - I'm Gonna Do It By Myself -

£100 - The Q - That's The Way - Hound

£200 - Haven't paid that yet!!!

Not gonna give away all my secrets but paid a lot less than £10 for The Cautions - No Other Way and paid well over £200 for Rita and The Tiaras - GWTW. Guess which I think was the better value for money.

After consideration I'll go for :

10 - Pauline Shivers - Wont you come bk home

50 -Barbara Lynn - Im a good woman

100 - Diane Pane - What side your bread is buttered on

200 - "do you think it grows on trees"

10p Barbara McNair - You're gonna love my baby (British White demo.)

£ 10 - Ty Karim - lightin' up (Romark)

£ 50 95% of my records cost less than this. Best one Gail Anderson - Be Proud you're in Love (Salvador White Demo)

£100+ Valerie Lamar - Shame (Dee Dee)

£200 very few I would buy for more than this even if I could. Elbie Parker, Larry Allen, Betty Turner - winds and the Empires spring to mind. I havent yet spent more than £200 on a disc...but...

Pay a few quid more and you could afford the motown original so then you could play it out without worry.

Cheers joe. Still in my all time top 5. I wonder if Dave Thorley will play it at the Stafford reunion?

I may well have paid over the odds for it, but it was THE track I had to have for such a long time. When I finally found one for sale I would have paid 5 times what I got it for.

I think it's okay, but it's not really my 'style'. I know alot of people do like it though!

£100 tune and its not you're cup of tea???You lot have got tooooooooo much money down there.......Thats a months shop at Netto for Mr Orton...

This may be digressing a little but in the 80's i picked up Benny Troy-I want to give you tomorrow-Deelite for about £8. In the 90's i had it stolen, i think its worth more than that now but if i still had it it would have been my best buy. How much does it go for now?

£ 50 - Ruby Andrews - Just Lovin You

£100 - Havn't paid this have an agrement with my other half not to spend over £100 but am allowed to buy as many records as I want a month under that... (it works for me)
