I just love The Blues Busters, especially "Wide Awake In A Dream", "Lover's Reward", "Soon You'll Be Gone", etc.

Seems to be two Blues Busters threads going right now. biggrin.gif

"Can't Believe You're Gone" was originally issued in Jamaica on the Sunshine label (with both wine-red and black labels).

I don't know where the Bra label is from, but some people have suggested Canada.

It's a very rare record and seldom comes up for sale.

Superb tune. thumbsup.gif

While we're talking Blues Busters, can I just jump in here and recommend a young UK band, the Dualers, to any BB fans. The group is fronted by twin brothers who sound uncannily like Phillip James and Lloyd Campbell, and who are themselves great admirers of the BBs.

They do feature some BBs numbers in their sets, "I Won't Let You Go" and "Soon You'll Be Gone" spring to mind. They also write thier own material and a lot of it is very much in the BBs style.

They do regular gigs, but the brothers are also to be found in either Croydon or Bromley High Streets most Saturdays, singing to pre-recorded tapes (unlike their live shows, where they have a 6 piece band - three horns! - in back of them).

I'm not big on what might be termed 'ska revival' bands, but the Dualers go beyond being mere revivalists. They are as good as the 'real thing' in every respect.

Check 'em out!

The label is from New Jersey and is associated with the Sew City label. Witches and the Warlocks feature on both labels.

Are you sure that it is associated with Sew City? I doubt that.

The Witches And The Warlock release is the oddest release on the label, everything else I've ever seen/heard on the label is rocksteady or ska.

Label listing:

BRA 001 - Lloyd & Glen - Minnie Skirts & Go Go Boots / A Good Man

BRA 502 - Blues Busters with Byron Lee - How Sweet It Is / I Had A Dream Last Night

BRA 503 - Blues Busters - Wide Awake In A Dream / My Girl

BRA 503 - Byron Lee & The Dragonaires - Your No Good / Behold

BRA 506 - Blue Busters - Can't Believe You're Gone / Soon You'll Be Gone

BRA 602 - Blues Busters - Happy Man / My Girl

BRA 602 - Blues Busters - Wide Awake In A Dream / Wings Of A Dove

BRA 901 - Byron Lee & The Dragonaires - the record / Hang On Sloopy

BRA 904 - L. Perkins - Sandra / No Love No Money

BRA 1101 - Witches And The Warlock - Behind Locked Doors (vocal) / (instrumental)

BRA 2011 - Ken Boothe - I Don't Want To See You Cry / ?

BRA 201? - Blues Busters - I Won't Let You Go / Love Me Forever
