Fred Hughes. Is It A Boot?

I lately came across FRED HUGHES-DONT LET ME DOWN for £5 in an antiques shop that sells a few bits of old vinyl. It looks like an original copy on VEE-JAY but am not sure. Was this tune booted and if so how can you tell?

Seem to remember, this is one of those 45's that looks like a boot. Very little info on the label, and very poor quality sound. Don't think it's been booted though.....I could be wrong

The poor quality sound is due to the production. However, I think the dodgy production really adds to the atmosphere of the track. It's one of my all time favourite tracks .
