Peter99 Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I always felt Richards late casino spins were top draw - some of the best sets I've ever heard. I was converted to the dark modern side 77/78 and was really up for the new stuff - but I loved Richards newer sixties stuff too - he was playing great soul music in my opinion - whether that be 60's or 70's.

Barry Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 "James Lewis" - The Q Yes, very happy memories of Richard's late Casino spins. Rideout/Garry Glenn/Keni Burke/Charles Mann etc. Top Tunes! That's before the 60's monsters... Searling at that time was the db's, couldn't fault them playlists then and still can't now. My main reason for attending Wigan as often as I did. Genius.
Sebastian Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Eeeeh thats the first press .. dont it look lovely .. So... is this the first press: or is this at all the tune we're talking about? I'm sure I've seen a label design which is orange/black/yellow as well. Is that the reissue?

The orange/black/yello label I posted earlier is the original release which Poke was playing covered up in 1982/3. My mate bought it off him for a decent amount and then a few turned up at Soul Bowl with picture sleeves. Blurb about the release on the back of the sleeve attached:

The orange/black copy is usually passed of as a first press when I see it for sale.

Ncfc Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Horizon has got to be one of the worst records ever played on the modern scene.
