Simon M Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Think it was the reason it shut Simon Probably , John Andersons fault for giving records like that to RS .. did King Moses get played at Wigan?
SteveM Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 (edited) Probably , John Andersons fault for giving records like that to RS .. did King Moses get played at Wigan? John Vincent reckons he played it in the 70's. Which to be fair, thinking about some of the records he DID play, is distinct possibility. (Tell me its an eighties recording and I'll give him a call ) Sure I've got an RS tape, pre Wigan closing, with M &M's on though. I've seen his last night playlist somewhere. Wonder if its on that ? Despite his age, Sean Hampsey has a better memory than most, he should know. Edited June 12, 2007 by SteveM

SteveM Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I think King Moses might be 1980 ya know , Wait 'til I see him. He finished at Wigan around 1976 and KM would not have gone down well at St Ives, where Ann Marie, "A Gift Of Love" was a big sound for John. Seriously though, he my have owned it later, as it as his type of record, and when he made a comeback early eighties, he hd some big big records.

I agree with you - awesome set from the man. I was really enjoying the scene at this moment in time - some great new sixties stuff mixed up with some fairly newly released seventies. Searling at his best.

I was really enjoying the scene at this moment in time - some great new sixties stuff mixed up with some fairly newly released seventies. Searling at his best. The sheer mixture of the records in Richard's set was highly creditable , and , as far as I can recall , no one slagged it off following him finishing it ...... As I have stated before , it is interesting that the choice of some of the titles in / for his last spot reflected his feelings at the time ...... Malc Burton
