Guest Adrian Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Brilliant ! That's it ! just found it on Forum Soul Clips. Thanks a lot for that Adrian. Gotta get it on vinyl now !!!!! Cheers. As mentioned above, I think the A-Side is 'I Call It Love' another 70's reworking, cracking double sider. Value? I paid £50 8 months ago. Also worth looking for 'Just Be Yourself', i think similar kinda value.

And just to complicate things there's a 60's version of Pretenders "I call it love" with another flipside, "Feelin' good" on Carnival 550. Not at all as good as the 70's version IMO , which is Carnival 560 and a super double sider at £50. Edited June 11, 2007 by Helena

There's a similar, lo-fi sounding version by a group called the Tempos on the Orivious label.
Toodarnsoulful Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 -->QUOTE(mark.b @ Jun 11 2007, 04:01 PM) link i play the pretenders version at the greatstone i prefer this version to lee williams but i actually bought it for the other side i call it love. mark Same here Mark, didnt know the 'Its everything about you' side until i got the 45 and just loved it from first listen.. Actually bought the 6ts version before that thinking that this was the correct record and wasnt too happy when that one arrived, though its quite nice and the flip feelin good is a great instrumental, there is also a vocal to 'Feelin good' by the carnival kings isnt there.. cant remember the name now...

Guest Adam G Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 did the Pretenders version get spins in the past? anyone else playing it at the mo? I first heard The Pretenders later version at The first Soul Essence weekender in 93 but have been told it was popular before then.Great 45 I prefer it to Lee Shot Williams
Guest Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 value wise, The Pretenders is nearer to £100 than £50 I'm afraid.... Lee Williams is about £50
Helena Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 value wise, The Pretenders is nearer to £100 than £50 I'm afraid.... My friend just bought it for £60, there was one on Paul Capon's list I believe for roughly the same, one went unsold on ebay not long ago with starting bid $100, a couple of others on ebay went for about $100 recently. One apparently sold on here for £50. I rest my case.

Tony Turner Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Yes 'It's Everything About You' was played quite a bit out and about circa '86-ish. That side got the spins rather than 'I Call It Love'
