Guest Dante Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Hi all, On the recent thread about the Chicago's Columbia matrix system (ZTSC), I was hooked by the fact that Golden World 17 and 18 have, besides the normal Columbia Matrix, a Bell Sound stamped one. So I entered the great Dave Flynn's Anorak's Corner (www.anorakscorner.com) and read that Bell Sound was a large independent pressing plant based on NYC. My questions are: 1) Does ALL the GW 17 & 18 copies have the Bell Sound Stamp? 2) I supose they were pressed in NYC, but why? 3) Are there other Columbia records pressed on Bell Sound? Cheers Dante

Cheers Dante Hi Dante I am looking into this, as you know we are taking a closer look at a few labels on Hitsville and Golden World is one of them, thanks once again for your Information on the Ric-Tic Label, piecing together Information from many sources helped us to almost complete the Label Information for Ric-Tic. We are currently compiling Label Scans for Carnival, Ric-Tic, Revilot, Mirwood, Golden World, & Loma. It is an ongoing project, any help is most appreciated and Credit noted. Any Information such as GW-17/18 , ZTSC/Bell Sound - I'm hoping to Include. I will try to find something out, Dave Flynns site is excellent and provides extensive Information on the 60's Monarch numbers etc. the GW 17 & 18 Bell Sound / Columbia is Unusual, gotta be a reason, are there other unfortunatelly as the years go by Information on these labels fades into the mist of time, and we have no option other than to guess. INFORMATION on the 70's Monarch numbers has recently been requested on a Soul Source post, I'm not sure if anyone has compiled it yet though. >>> LINK <<< Edited June 7, 2007 by 45cellar
