Pete S Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 What a record - going to list this today or tomorrow but just wanted an excuse to put a sound file up really...I mean, what a fantastic track this is, the sort of thing you hope nobody buys this week so you can hang onto it for another week! I like Roomfull Of Tears as well but this is better in my opinion.
Marc Forrest Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Well, exactly last night I was compiling a new list of things to sell and I had to struggle wether to put this in or not...I finally had to put the 45 back on the shelf so good is it!

And I'd say one of the few records undervalued in the price guide!
binsy Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Fantastic record with a great deep flip ' Broken hearted mans prayer'. Swapped mine for 'Baby take me back' on modern around the Stafford era.
Guest in town Mikey Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 What an incredible voice JG has. I've still yet to hear a track by him that isnt in the very top drawer!
jocko Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Funny I just got one this week after been after it for almost 20 years, its only VG and has a few crackles on both sides but given the very cheap price it was well worth it, Have played it about 100 times already. As Pete says i think this is a pretty rare record, maybe too good for todays market???
Pete S Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 So would I be going over the top asking 200 for that in mint or near mint, it books at 150 but the last time I remember seeing one for sale, I was selling it, and that was years ago!
Mak Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 At last someone else championing this tune never off my deck
Gene-r Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 One of Dawn Brown's big spins over the past 20 years - superb!
Simon M Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 He did some great 70's too .. "dance lady dance" springs to mind
Dylan Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 This is a great record and the first thing i'm going do when i get home from work today is dig this out to play the flip. Can't believe I have never listened to it. Got to be a 3 figure price on something like this. Does seem pretty rare.
Pete S Posted May 31, 2007 Author Posted May 31, 2007 Well I just sold this one without much effort. Sad to see it go though.
jocko Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 (edited) He did some great 70's too .. "dance lady dance" springs to mind Whats that on Simon? IS that the Max Kidd one? He did one on ICA which is okay and was he not JG Lewis on IX Chains also with 2 great records. Well done Pete, I think its well worth that, although wasnt sure if it was the kind of record that everyone raves about but doesnt buy! Makes my £50 for a VG one seem a bargain now!!
