Dayo Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Simple question: If you love dancing - and don't we all? - then what's your all time or current fave to dance to? Which sound has it all? At Kidderminster Glades on Friday I nearly passed out after dancing to Joe Hicks, Don't it make you feel funky. Something about the tempo, the beat, those tasteful drum fills, just makes me want to show off. What sound turns your heartbeat up? Colin

Soulie78 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I normally enjoy dancing (if you can call it that) to midtempo tracks, but the last time a friend of mine played THE MONTCLAIRS - HUNG UP ON YOUR LOVE at the Soulnight in N¼rnberg, I danced my soul out, and had to sit down some minutes after it. FANTASTIC !!!!!!

Guest hammy Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 DYNAMIC 3 - YOU SAID YEAH (DEL VAL) Probably my all time fave. Hammy
jazzyjas Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 My absolute favorite song to dance to right now is Ritchie Adams "I Can't Escape From You". The tempo is perfect and the song and production are both pure class. I never tire of hearing it and if it should come on, I'll drop everything to rush to the floor. Right now "the floor" for me is my living room, which has a nice old wooden floor, with a 8'x8' area for dancing, and old records are everywhere! Best venue in the USA. KTF Jas

Guest Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 There's been too many over the years, always get a buzz when a record comes on and someone comes up and says "I remember you dancing to this" Nowadays, the slower the better. Funeral March?
Dayo Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 Towanda Barnes also takes some beating, although in these post SKF days, the tempo is, er... challenging!
Simsy Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Youngblood Smith - You can split. great dancer!
Guest Trevski Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Ronnie McNeir "Isn't she a pretty girl" ALWAYS gets me on the floor!
Guest in town Mikey Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Sandi Sheldon - you're gonna make me want you. Always gets my heartbeat up. So much so, whatever is played next, I still have to sit down and get my breath back. OFF TOPIC Slightly I'll say this, Ian Levine gets a hell of a lot of bad press, but seeing her perform this at the Rocket was a highlight of all my years listening to Northern Soul. He has to take credit for getting some great acts to the Rocket. Its just a shame for the acts that he brought too much baggage for the majority. Please dont turn this into another anti IL thread.
