mention of Jackie Wilson and Jimmy Armstrong brought this lengthy article by Andy Rix into mind, its the in full version (before editing) written for the first kent cd release , and was one of those soul source "first time out in public exclusives" that used to get :thumbsup:

......The pace of life was becoming hectic; Eddie had maintained contact with Jackie Wilson, and his manager Nat Tarnopol, and had flown back to New York to play them some of the Shrine material. Jackie particularly liked a Jimmy Armstrong track, recorded on July 19th 1965, that Eddie was planning to release; never one to miss an opportunity Eddie agreed to let Jackie put his vocal on the band track and 'I Believe I'll Love On' (Brunswick 55283), recorded in August, heralded the start of Eddie's time at Brunswick as A&R Director. .....
