Was the Just Brothers i think

Old Butch spin from the late 80s/ early 90s

Couple of questions on this?

Has anyone got a soundclip/MP3 of it?

Is it a cover up or an unissued job? Is it really the Just Brothers?

I havent heard this for about 10 years or so (dont think Butch plays it now??) but do remember the drumroll intro and outrageously soulful vocals, fantastic tune, was my favourite record at the time.

Would love to hear it again.

Any help appreciated.

Gaz

Hi Byrney... well if Chalky or you don't have it to post... its not looking good!

I agree... pure class!

I don't think it would be appreciated if it was posted, a full sound file anyway.

I asked him to play it at the first lifeline weekender and he said he hadnt brought it with him, same as you Phil!!

He might be saving it to re-activate it!! Hope so.............

I still remember the dramatic drumroll intro........then uptempo group soul heaven!! As good as anything ive heard, i classed it in the same bracket as the Del-Larks (Mello Souls) at the time, so it must be good......................

One reasons I used to love all-nighters was to hear the exclusives and rarities of the top dj's. Nowadays you only have to go on the net to hear many of them, not always a good thing IMHO.

Absolutely LOVE this tune! Asked Butch for it at Soul Revolution, but he didn't have it with him then either.

Could be wrong, but I don't think it is actually the Just Brothers. Their stuff is usually a lot rawer and guitar based than this polished performance

He's got another great tune which (I think) is a one off call 'Ordinary Guy'. Very much in the same vein. Haven't heard him play this one since about 1991. It is truely class!! He did tell me who it was once, but I wasn't in the best frame of mind at the time and subsequently forgot who it was!!! :shades: Anyone remember this one?

The Jerry Williams Ordinary Girl ain't a one off no more. Andy Dyson got a copy and has been playing it for a while now, if you'd been at Union Saturday you would have heard it thumbsup.gif Mick H and Carl Fortnum also got copies.
