robhallam Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I'm just getting back into the scene after 30 years, and i've decided to catalog my motley record collection. I have all the Manship guides, but have many questions re my records. Apologies in advance if i touch on recent topics. First question for now: How many different Ric-tic labels were there for Agent double o soul by Edwin Starr. I have usual red with black lettering, yellow and black, and yellow and red. All have the title 'agent double o soul'. I recently saw a scan with title 'agent oo soul'. Does this exist in all colourways and demos? I really don't fancy having the same record about 8 times for the sake of completeness. Thanks for your help Rob Hallam
robhallam Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Thanks for the info. It looks like i need the yellow/black with the different type face and the yellow/black with the 'oo soul ' title for a complete set of stock copies. Rob Hallam

Rob Hallam Hi Rob The Yellow / Black "AGENT OO-SOUL" ------------------------(Agent Double-O-Soul) Is the one that I need to complete the Stock Copies , plus the White DEMO, which is Single Sided and Extreemly Rare. The White DEMO also has this Title with the Brackets. Edited May 3, 2007 by 45cellar
Modernsoulsucks Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I have the WDJ. There is a slight difference in that it doesn't say "Arranged by Sonny Sanders". And before anyone asks if I can post it up, Im still trying to figure out how to post Tamiko Jones issue from 3 months ago. Shame it ain't got instr. on other side too. ROD
robhallam Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 I haven't seen the yellow/black with the different type face.Is it rare? Slight change of subject. The only Ric-tic stock copy i don't have is no 116. Is this available as a stock copy? if so, i would like to buy - any ideas. Thanks again for all the info. Rob Hallam

ROD Hi Rod Is your copy the same as the White DEMO on Hitsville via the Link Below. We are currently trying to compile scans for the Ric-Tic & Mirwood Label at Hitsville Soul Club of America >>> LINK <<< Includes Scans of the White DEMO for Ric-Tic RT-103, now that is a Rare One.
Dave Moore Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Still not seen a 116 Stocker either. It's gotta be out there somewhere? I don't remember anything being pulled by Wingate's orgnisation, does anyone have any info like that? Tell you what.......40 years after the event and we STILL haven't got this label squared away properly! The hunt continues... Regards, Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com PS... ROD - I finally found a 1 sided Agent OO Soul Demo. ($3.00), so I'll not badger you for yours anymore. I do need the Miracles "Shop Around" on the underside of your box lid still though?
