Just watched the new film " This is England " [which I found uncomfortable viewing for the most part ] .There was a superb take of James Carr " Dark end of the street " anybody know who it's by ? Cheers ,Eddie

Best version is by Roy Hamilton.

Thanks for everyone's help ,it's probably my all time favourite Soul song ,James Carr is the version for me , but love Roy Hamilton's as well and Joe Tex's [ Making love ] At the dark end of the street on Atlantic , which is the first version I heard back in 1972 ,Best ,Eddie

FYI, the glories do a version of it on their very last date 45. On they same record they also do a version of "don't make the good girls go bad"
