soul45s Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 could anybody tell me if this was ever issued on a single. I dont think it was? unless it was booted, it was previously unreleased at the time of recording, then issued on a Spector compilation album 'Rare Masters' or something similar Great track

Supercorsa Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I think you'll find he was asking if "It's A Long Way To Be Happy" was ever released on a single.

Sebastian Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I think you'll find he was asking if "It's A Long Way To Be Happy" was ever released on a single. Bloody hell, you're right. My head is still smashed after the 8-hour DJing session I did yesterday... "Long Way" indeed is LP-only.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 There's another version of the song, on Liberty, by Carolyn Daye - but it's a sort of folk-y waltz, and completely devoid of soul. I only mention this in case you notice it on a list and feel the urge to buy it blind, as I once did...
Pete S Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I've got Darlene's autobiography (signed!) and she mentions it was meant to come out as a single but Spector changes his mind at the last minute.

It is sorted amongst my pop singles though...

I shouldn't imagine we're the only ones, Sebastian. And like you I didn't get rid of it once I'd bought it, either....
