Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 "Sweet Violets"/"A Thousand Tears Ago" is the only one of Roy's MGM 45's that I now need to complete the 'set'... Anyone got or seen one for sale? Neither side is a dancer, so I'm hoping for a bargain or, at least, something that won't require a bank loan... Thanks for looking! TONY
slimharpo Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Thousand Tears Ago not a dancer!!!???? Have you heard it lately Tony? Not wanting to increase the price for you but I think it is, not on the Northern floors perhaps but on the R&B scene I think. Anyway its worth big bucks for Cissy & Co in the backing. SLIM

SLIM I tried dancing to it only yesterday in the office - I spilt my tea all over the desk and damn near fractured my patella! Frankly I'd pay money just to see someone dance to it - if it's big on the R & B scene, then I have some nice polkas, czardases and mazurkas in my world music collection that I'll be covering up and sending to Nashee in the next available post (only joking, Linda...) It's a damn fine record though, and you've sussed that this is the side I really want it for - that and the fact that it really IS the only MGM Roy Hamilton 45 I don't own... So I'm still looking, if anyone wants to sell me it at twice the price they were going to before ol' Slim 'ere stuck his oar in Issue or demo, I really don't mind...

I said I thought it could be danced to on that scene, I could be way out in my opinion. I'll have to be careful about 'sticking my oar in' in future. I didn't realise some Soul Sourcers might be so sensitive about such matters. Nevertheless I hope you got a good copy, UK or U.S?
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 No, my friend, you didn't upset me at all, and, honestly, I'm not in the least bit sensitive about 'such matters', hence the three laughing emoticons after my original comment - my whole reply was typed with my tongue in my cheek, so I hope you will excuse any drool stains on this font... ...and yes, thanks, I did get a copy today, for which thanks to Mr, Bergman for the heads-up. Top tune in every way... ...still don't think anyone could dance to it, though - except maybe if they were doing the mambo? Best, TONY
