Crumb Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I've got a styrene record (Shawn Robinson) & the labels almost come off. Can anyone reccomend a glue that will not damage the label. Thanks

Crumb Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 Pritt I thought of using one of those pritt sticks but as the label is still just attached it'll be difficult to spread the glue on without folding the label back. I might moisten it & see if it'll come off completely.

Crumb Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 Airfix..... Doesn't airfix glue melt styrene ? I think I'd practice on a knackered record first.
pikeys dog Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Yup... You asked for one that wouldn't damage the label... not the Styrene . General purpose PVA (aka Woodglue) does the trick and dries clear.

Ady Potts Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I've got a styrene record (Shawn Robinson) & the labels almost come off. Can anyone reccomend a glue that will not damage the label. Thanks I use Crayola craft glue, it's made by the people that make kids Crayola crayons. Dries clear, plus any over spill can be taken off with cotton wool soaked in warm water. Must have used it on dozens of records over the years. I have used Pritt stick like Trevski said, that works well, but if you dont put it on even you end up with small lumps under the label.
Steve G Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Airfix..... Oh no Sir Will also go through the paper.

pikeys dog Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Crayola Craft Glue is PVA, only about 4 times the price....
Crumb Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Just stuck it back on with PVA, wiped the excess off with a wet sponge, I'm pleased with the result so far.
