Guest vinylvixen Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I've just looked on Manship's list and seen this at £150 ........has the world gone MAD The delicious mid tempo B side 'Mend The Torn Pieces' was a favourite at These Old Shoes and I think I paid no more than £20 five years ago.............in the words of Marvin Gaye 'What's Going On' ????????? Jo

Pete S Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I'd have said 50 max on the first one and 30 max on the second...in fact I had one about 3 lists ago.
MarkWhiteley Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Thought it was worth about £200 until saw it on your list a month or two ago Pete...proves what I know
Guest Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Thought it was worth about £200 until saw it on your list a month or two ago Pete...proves what I know link Ha In the price book No3 he has a record priced at 40quid, go to the website & there is an e+ copy at 100. So the moral is take no fucking notice of price guides. Unless you're saelling ha ha ! Dave
jazzyjas Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 There was a variation with catalog numbers and the way the group was listed on the label. I've got the "hard" one in my collection. It's #1010. The more common issue is catalog #1071. Great record both sides. I just played it two nites ago. Hope you snag one for a fair price. KTF Jas
Dave Moore Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Anyone know anything about the W/Demo with the title: "Mend the BROKEN pieces" Dave
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Anyone know anything about the W/Demo with the title: "Mend the BROKEN pieces" Dave link Dave you're obsessed buy yourself an issue for a change
Dunc Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Most of the issues of this record came in the soul packs in the 70's as was Funny Feeling (George Wydell) and Baby Take a Chance on Me (Jack Montgomery). Everything is going up in price these days
davidwapples Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 i think the clue is in the word manship if hes buying its cheap if he lists it and hes got one for sale its expensive if hes got more than one the price goes up after someone buys the first as its in demand
Tomangoes Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 It just does not come close to Lorraine. Sorry. Ed

Still no one has replied re: tye W/Demo with "Broken" pieces on the B Side?? ANNEE1 Regards, Dave link 'Mend The Broken Pieces' is the first issued title on issues & demos 1010, later changed to 'Torn' 1075. I see copies of both occasionally, sold a near mint first issue for £75 about a month ago. regards Paul

I thought better late than never; I bought my Junior 1010 White Demo from Soul Bowl in the 1970's - The Sensations featuring Yvonne Baker. It has 'Mend The Broken Pieces' as title on the B Side. My stock copies of Junior 1010 & Junior 1071 both have "Mend the torn pieces" Edited December 31, 2005 by 45cellar
Pete S Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I've got one on ebay at the moment - £20. I did list it set-sale (25 or 30) last week but no takers!

Guest Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Torn Pieces....what a track......from what i know, the price of a record is based mainly on demand with a touch of rarity for added spice..........
Guest Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Most of the issues of this record came in the soul packs in the 70's as was Funny Feeling (George Wydell) and Baby Take a Chance on Me (Jack Montgomery). Everything is going up in price these days I picked up a dozen or so copies of the 2nd issue from Lou Silvani a few years back he had loads of them and was knocking them out at $2 each. Derek
