Tony Smith
The first (best IMO) version 1966 released on Keymen records, re-recorded for Minit records in 1968. Link to comment Social source share

Steve L
The Minit version is completely different as I've just found out to my cost. Just bought one for a tenner and found its not the same record as on Keymen/Mirwood reissue. Whoops Link to comment Social source share
mischief
If anyone wants one think Sean Chapman has a Keyman one in hes sales box Link to comment Social source share
pow wow mik
they're totally different songs aren't they, not versions of the same song? I prefer the Minit one, but keyman one's nice. Link to comment Social source share
pikeys dog
One of them came out on Uk Jay Boy... presumably the Mirwood/Keyman version Link to comment Social source share
Guest TONY ROUNCE
I prefer the Minit one, but keyman one's nice. Me too, Mik - and you also get the plus of the fantastic "What You Gonna Do" on the other side, a cracking southern dancer if ever there was one! (Same song as Margie Joseph on Volt for anyone who hasn't heard it). Jackie De Shannon also did a version of "What Is This" on Imperial that uses the same arrangement of the Womack Minit 45 - hardly surprising, really, as Womack produced it. Guest melandthensome
Had the Keyman 45 now for years and for me the buisness a good old Wheel spin...... Link to comment Social source share
Sebastian
The Minit recording is absolutely superb. The one on Keyman is one of my pet-hate soul tunes, I simply can't stand it. Link to comment Social source share

Yep, both are great in their own way. Interesting thing with the Womack Keymen release , as with the The Fi Dels classic "Try A Little Harder" also on Keymen, the UK Jay Boy releases have far better and louder sound reproduction than the Keymen US originals !!!! I always play the Jay Boys issues out !!! Edited April 16, 2007 by sunnysoul Link to comment Social source share
