U sure about that? Picture - I thought he was a bit like Clarence Carter vocally? I also thought he was a porno star

Van Horn is a common name around Memphis. Has a large community that origins are German/Dutch , so much so that there is a large area on the outskirts of town called, German Town. I believe from a couple of contacts there that Ron Van Horn is black singer, also all other releases on the label (Rav) are soul. I have a copy and it sounds like a soul tune to me, a bit smoltsy maybe, but soul all the same. :shades:

maybe ...i still think the jury is out on this record...i,m not that convinced it sure is well cheesy even gorgonzola had it three /four times...got rid every time ...however the background female vocals are to die for..they are definitely black straight from church...

as to porno it sure sounds like it.....not as good as willie darrington and all pale into insignificance with the veda brown track on rav..now that is oozing pure soul :shades::thumbsup:

thank you and goodnight from me :D

Agree it's not as good as Veda Brown (both sides), but it's got a great backing track. vocally it's a bit off. I'm with Dave in thinking he is black, but black country and western singers do exist - Oboe (O B McL) etc...... that must have been a tough act, especially down in redneck country in the 60's ph34r.gif
