Johnny Gilliam on Bo Mar does show up, but not very often - would say around £150 mark, but only because, it would appear, still not known to many people - certainly rarer than that price suggests and far harder than 'Room Full of Tears' on Cancer and 'Baby, Take Me Back' on Modern.

Well here goes from the Vickers box & I must say I have no system what so ever for filing my records, the ones Im digging right now are at the front with the ones I liked last week following em, with a few safety numbers thrown in t'other side..........just in case, as I get something I wanna play out more, something that has gone of the boil for me goes back on the shelf for a rest..........bit of a 'hot box' system, but with records that I rate personally & hopefully without selling something to finance the latest purchase, altho' it has been known.

Willie Tee - Funky Funky Twist

Basic Sounds of Pitsburgh - Feel It

Roy Roberts - So Much In Love

La Familia Inc - Do You Love Me

James Knox - Let The Music Move Ya

La Jay Alexander - Say So

Marvelle Hampton - I Truly Beleive (In Love)

Chance & Tony (Mine & Shifty's 'Shadows' Cover up from few years ago) - Pretty Baby

Jerry Butler - Some Kinda Magic/I Dig You Baby

The Sheepherders Ft Bubba Bailey - I f Ever You Need Me

Joy Lovejoy & the Joytones - My Hearts Been invaded ph34r.gif

The Lavells - Share Him

William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing

Kenny Smith & the Loveliters - One More Day

Whoops 20, sorry anyhoo one from the front of the 12's box Loveman Ronnie Stokes - Touch You Again.

As you can see a very wide eclectic selection, that are in a right jumble & deffo not in any 'play' order, Im the messiest DJ you have ever seen with records everywhere, but hopefully I seem to get away with it :thumbsup::wicked: (most of the time hahahahah).

I'll leave it in the box and give it a run out @ Soul Revolution for ya.... or even this Friday at the Brighton Beach do @ the Carling Academy if you fancy roughing it with the studenty riff raff types! :P

First 15 from the left hand side of my box. Kind of odd, kind of cookie cutter. Not staged at all since I throw my latest plays in the back of the box and last time I spun was on saturday.

Sly, Slick & wicked- Sho nuff

The Millionaires-Never for me

The Caesars- Girl I miss you

Precisions- Mexican love song ( If i ever convince a girl to marry me, I will insist on this being the song played for our first dance as a married couple)

Royal Esquires- Ain't gonna run

detroit soul- All of my life

Artistics- Hope we have

Jo Ann Garrett- Whole new plan

The turks- you turn me on

Superlatives- Do what you want to do

darrow fletcher- what good am i without you

superlatives- were so lonely (this is the side i prefer)

volcanos- laws of love

jack montgomery- dearly beloved (found this last friday for $4!)

mighty marvelows- this towns too much/youre breaking my heart

united four- one more time/look at her now

ok that's 16 instead. like I said, a little on the cookie cutter side but these were the first records i grabbed from my box.

I am confused ohmy.gif doesn't every one keep their play box neatly in alphabetical order and colour coded cardboard sleeves for genre (i.e. NS, R&B, MP, 60s Girlie etc) then sub colour coded with post-it file tags for tempo :P

I would guess mine would then be anything starting with A or B, I know Anna Craig, Life of the Party is at the front cos its the only one I keep in my play box that starts with A :)

Do you think I should get out more

Why not cover your latest discovery as "Aaron Aardvark & the Amazers" thus ensuring that it's always at the front of the box for those of us who do it right and stick to an alphabetical arrangement. Those who don't are the lowest kind of pond life imaginable.

And don't forget all records must be in white outer cardboard sleeves with inner colored paper sleeves. For instance "Detroit" must be red inners. Some choose green but they are laughingly wrong and deluded individuals who probably cannot be trusted with large amounts of money or your partner.

45s should be placed carefully in the sleeve with the title at the bottom in a straight line [a spirit level does come in handy] and all US releases should have 3-pronged middles inserted [in a "Y" shape] all aligned exactly the same.

Once those basics of 45 maintenance are observed you can then accessorise with drapes or scatter cushions.

I think a certain amount of "showing off" is involved in this thread but WTF. My first 15 Detroit 45s in box are, IMO predictibly and boringly because I can't afford to add to them, listed below

Embers You can lump it ACT IV

Larry Wright Sweet sweet kisses A GO-GO

Danny Moore Somebody new ALL-RITE

Johnnie Mae Matthews Lonely you'll be ART

Gino Washington Like my baby ATAC

Jack Montgomery Don't turn your back on me BARRACUDA

Johnny Mae Matthews I have no choice BIG HIT

Barbara Jean & Lyrics Why weren't you there BIG HIT

Cynthia & Imaginary 3 That's what I am BIG HIT

Falcons [im a fool] I must love you BIG WHEEL

Betty Lavette Im holding on BIG WHEEL

Falcons Love look in her eyes BIG WHEEL

Falcons Love you like you never... BIG WHEEL

Johnny Dixon Where are you BOSS

Tokays Baby baby baby BRUTE
