Sam & Kitty C/u

anyone remember a c/u which was played circa mid-late eighties; c/u as Sam and Kitty 'all alone'; can't be sure but think it may have been Gary Spencer who spun it originally. Just found it on an old tape and wondered whether anyone ever found out what it was, value etc??

Cheers

Right Phil. Originally owned by richard searling, then sold to sean gibbons for £60! Then sold to Carl Fortnam with 2 other records for £3,000. One of which was a 10" acetate covered up as Carol Anderson "no more heartaches".

Thats actually by "Cream of the crop".

Anyway It was then possibly sold to Gary spencer alledgedly. Not clear about this as Carl was very very unhelpfull when I asked him about it at Middleton.I too have been trying to track down a copy of this for 20 years.

I'm not fully clear about the title of the Sam and Kitty c/u. What I know is

its by "......... St. James and the Jon Doms" ( possibly anna St james)

Its called "Make a happy home".

The label is "ALTON" (Red) and its dog rare. I dont know of any other copies.

Hope that helps.

If anyone knows anymore about this record. Or of any other copies I'de be really interested to hear from them too..........

Top man, cheers!

I've never even known what to look for and (sound familiar?) some 'prophet' once hooked me with the immortal " I know what that is an its a fiver" line and I've lived in the shadow of a fool's hope ever since! I will wait with breath suitably baited then ... ... ... and with my fiver at the ready of course!

Even if it's Sam and Kitty it's intresting as i only ever remember them doing 1 single

There is 2 - I've Got Something Good and Your Money My Love.

Reminds me of being in M's there was a small guy from Scotland about 4'5 tall who could spin like shit, he had a very rugged dance style and this would suit him to a T.

Sure if Keb or Butch had a copy it would go big.

Ouch...!

For me, it's not really about this track is it? Love it, loathe it, liken it to whatever you will (I'm absolutely intrigued to hear what parallels might be drawn in terms of "pop rubbish"); fact is though that it was played and someone had the drive to find it and the balls to play it. Not enough of that knockin' about on this scene- still!!!!

I thought this was played mid-late 80s which would put Wigan in the clear, surely?

Russ Winstanley can't be blamed for everything
