grant Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Note that the Ringleaders 'All of My Life' is doing the rounds available in black and red vinyl? Is it a boot or legit limited issue?
Guest Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 The black vinyl copies are for sale on ebay from a well known american dealer, i got one myself the other week and they look and play great. Legal? who knows ask the bloke on ebay. It beats the crap sounding dubs that dj's have been spinning for years. greg
Guest Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 iirc most unlikely it s real, Ringleaders was the coverup - the real artist was the Four Temples, surely a legal issue would have to give proper credit?
Mike Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 word is that the orignal acetates had the name ringleaders written on em Apparently the "four temples" was a earlier name for ringleaders. apparently...
Guest Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 Seems to be a few of these knocking about and they sound o.k. and look o.k - what is the consensus of opinion about playin one of these at an event ? Acceptable?
grant Posted December 30, 2003 Author Posted December 30, 2003 I GOT ONE OF SOULBID.COM. THEY DO LOOK O.K. PERHAPS SOUNDING A BIT QUIETER THAN A CRISP CLEAR ORIG 45 BUT CAN'T COMPLAIN FOR THE MONEY. I DO REMEMBER HEARING AN EMIDISC BEING PLAYED AT A SOUL NITE & IT DID SOUND PRETTY POOR.
Guest Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 There were some Ringleaders 45's done for the Winsford 4th aniversary .well worth looking out for them as the sound quality is exellent.
Guest Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 They are bootlegs, plain and simple. The American dealer who is selling them does not own the rights to the song, so they cannot be legitimate.
grant Posted March 3, 2004 Author Posted March 3, 2004 anyone know if 'Baby What Has Happened' was booted?
Guest 71TRSC Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 It has been pressed as I bought a copy for a fiver last year. I no longer have it but it looked like a legal reissue rather than a boot. Out of interest how much is an original (on M PAC?)
Chalky Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 They are bootlegs, plain and simple. The American dealer who is selling them does not own the rights to the song, so they cannot be legitimate. I did hear or read somewhere they were claiming they are legit and they did obtained the rights but I though Tim B owned the rights. I know Andy Dyson was telling me that when Tim got the rights to do the Onederful/M-Pac cd there was info referringf to the All Of My life as being by the Four Temples. Will ask what the info was when I see him at the weekend if I remember. As for playing at a venue? It's never been issued and only exists on a studio disc and cd...make your own minds up ;-)
Mike Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 (edited) Just realised repeating meself now, as same post as prev one in this thread, so a quick edit Edited March 4, 2004 by mike-
