Guest MBarrett Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I just played Chubby Checker's "Two Hearts Make One Love" off the Soul Club website. It comes in at 1 minute 50 seconds. Just got me wondering if there are any shorter. Is there a recognised shortest track played on the Northern/Rare Soul scene?? Ta!! MB

MB Yes, Mighty Joe Drake "Try Try Try" is only 1:50, (but what a side!) I often wonder if there are longer takes of sides we know and love, lurking in a vault somewhere, and what would we make of them? When The Chi-Lites "Have You Seen Her" came out in 1971, it was considered something of a "groundbreaker", as everyone said that radio DJs would never play a single that was over 4 minutes long in those days! So what's the LONGEST Northern side ever played then? Brainstorm "Lovin' Is Really My Game"? - or is that cheating? Edited April 1, 2007 by mel brat

Soulfinger Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 (edited) Jimmy Thomas - Where There's A Will I remember that as being very short indeed. If I could find where I've put it I'd know how short. Found it. Says 2.05. Nomination withdrawn. I must've been standing a long way from it and it just looked shorter. Edited April 4, 2007 by Soulfinger
