Corbett80 Posted Tuesday at 16:20 Posted Tuesday at 16:20 Hi, Looking at John's recent sale of Dorothy Williams he mentions the red stock boot, and gives the correct matrix details: 'BEWARE OF COUNTERFEIT red stock copies. The genuine ORIGINAL authentic 1st. Press - has a 4 turn deadwax last turn has two tight together turn. fingertip sensitive etched in matrix sits in the first band deadwax space V-7983-2 hold the V in the 6 o'clock position etched AT is at 3 o'clock with a tiny stamped L 7 etched W in the sitting opposite in the 9 o'clock position all matrix markings are positioned in the first band of the deadwax .' Does this only relate to the press that doesn't have the Atco distributed info and address on the label? As those details read V-7983-11 with the positions of the W and AT slightly off from 6 and 3 o'clock. All other details are as above. Always assumed this was the 2nd 'national' 60's press (labelled as having been released in 1964, along with the 1st press having also been released the same year - according to Discogs). Or is this in fact the 'counterfeit' John mentions? Also what does 'L 7' mean in regards to the W? Any clarification gratefully received. Jx

Jx This is an original , you can see the deadwax matrix as far as I know this is the original and there is the boot , never had one so don’t have the deadwax info Edited 14 hours ago by Gaz T Didn’t upload pic
Corbett80 Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Thanks for the reply, this is the version i am talking about with Atco details at the top of the label. All matrix details match apart from the slight discrepancies mentioned above. This is also being sold as an original. Can anyone clarify if this is the boot or a different 60’s press? Thanks
