So so sad met Ted mid 80s and again when I got back into the scene after my divorce.. I will always remember him firstly for playing requests for my Son Kevin as he got into the scene and also sounds I pressured him to play with Ted having dance floor doubts.. 1st the traditions twinkle little star and little Willie faulks look into my heart at a nighter in Kettering which both filled the floor,  thank you Ted x

But for me the best memory is of my first spot in the back room of rugby and I dedicated my copy of Mac Staten to Ted and he threatened to hit me with his walking stick and run off with my copy...

Will miss you Ted thanks for being a great bloke,  great dj and a great gardener.

Love and prayers to your family and friends.

Mick and Kevin x x x

I used to call Ted "Dad" when we used to hang around between his spots.

I thought the absolute world of him and am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my friend, a wonderful DJ and wonderful man. RIHP Ted 🙏🎵😍

I first met Ted in 2008. What a journey he took me on, musically.

That's his legacy. Introducing people to his passionate record collection.

Bon voyage Ted ❤️

Ted was such a good man, always time for a chat.  Such a legend on the Scene. One of those guys who was loved by all.

May he rest in peace.

Just want to say I think what happened to Ted and his records was despicable. I hope that the people that stole are eventually  named and shamed.

Ted carried on as all was normal,  such was his heart, big enough for everyone on the soul scene

I think that I was responsible for getting Ted back out Dj’ing.

I was looking for guest Dj’s for my all-nighters, and Cliff (Camfield) mentioned Ted’s name.

I knew he was on soul source, but I had never met him. So I messaged Ted, and asked him if he would like to come and do a spot? Cliff had told me that he had a fantastic collection.

Anyhow, Ted got back to me, and if I remember correctly, he couldn’t do it. I think his wife was ill at that time?

But later, he contacted me and agreed to come up to Burnley.

That was it for Ted. He was constantly being booked to Dj after that night.

Very sad news indeed.

Phil, after his spot that night I went up to Ted (I'd never met him before) and asked him if he'd come to the Attic and do a spot for us which he agreed to. The night was fantastic and he was soon asked to do spots at various soul nights round our area. Years later Ted told me that was what got the ball rolling for him and led to where he ended up......nice to have played a small part in his journey

All the previous comments speak for themselves and he was just that, everything you would want for in a True Friend and the rest..........

A very sad day and a great lose to the music Scene.

My Condolences to his Family & Close friends at this time.

Now At Peace.

Ted, You truly Are a Legend to so many people.

Absolutely mate. I’d never met him either.

It was Cliff that knew him from his earlier days on scene, and knew the quality of his records.

This must have been the period when Ted was looking after his wife, and wasn’t able to go out.

Terrible what happened to him with the robbery, and very sad that he’s no longer with us.

Really shocked to hear about the passing of Ted. Always shook hands and had a quick word when we met, but i really didnt know the man or him me (how many on the scene do we really know ). Came across as a really nice unassuming bloke and you cant say that about many. Really needs something to get me out these days and Ted DJing was a good reason to make the effort and get out. Will miss the smile and handshake, and yet another reason not to make the effort and get my arse off the settee. RIP Ted

My condolences to his family and friends.

His sets were always among the most interesting and enjoyable of anyone's and he carried himself with style.

Poorer for having lost him, richer for having had him. RIP.

Other than our chats on here I actually met him at a venue a few years ago.

A lovely bloke to talk to and such a loss to our scene.

Awful news to hear of his passing.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
