Guest mel brat Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I've honestly never seen this before but I've had loads of copies of the original on Capitol! There were facsimile 'Capitol' label bootlegs done too remember (in 1974), plus that first bootleg on 'Troyx" from 1973! Maybe everyone who wanted a crappy bootleg copy already had one by that time!
Julianb Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Used to buy the OOTP 45s in bulk off Chris Burton at 50p each. I then got my mate Twink to sell them at Wigan for a £1 - nice profit. Never went to Wigan myself - I already given up going to NS do's but still had a lot of contacts. Happy days. Julian

Ric-tic Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 (edited) in the early days of the casino chris burton actually had o.o.t.p flyers printed up and must have paid people to hand em out,one night there was a technical hitch and they werrnt letting people in, that was possibly the night the beachcomber was born as thats where the dirty deed was done as the people piled in there waiting ,they were glossy fold overs listing all the new the new white titles [the coloured ones had already been done] plus a big list of what was upcoming that must have been the time he was done as no more titles did appear. did anyone keep one of those to post here? imagine someone doing that today maybee the reason the casino opened late that night was cos russ was expanding his record bar upstairs to cope with the demand i also think burton was beaten by the capitol release by then.
