Dobber Posted Friday at 14:35 Posted Friday at 14:35 (edited) A quick one…. is there any pics or evidence that little Richie is in fact blue eyed soul (a white chap) ? Certainly doesnt sound white? Edited Friday at 14:38 by Dobber 1
Johndelve Posted Friday at 15:36 Posted Friday at 15:36 I don't think he is white, but am not 100% sure. What I do know is that, somewhat surprisingly, given what else is on there, this single is on the juke box of the Fred Perry store in Covent Garden. 1

Alan T Posted Friday at 15:54 Posted Friday at 15:54 I've searched but never seen a picture. Apparently he is white, his surname is Jarvis. Little Richie Jarvis was on "The Porter Wagoner Show" season 07 Episode 18 singing two songs, "Banks Of The Ohio" and "Bottle Of Wine" around 1967/68 . This was a big show in America that ran for many years, there's got to be some footage somewhere. 1
Mach Posted Friday at 16:05 Posted Friday at 16:05 (edited) Yeah be Intresting to know, from what i could find his real name was John Richard Jarvis, so could possibly be white, he passed away in 1980. Recorded on Viking Records as Richie Jarvis. Edited Friday at 16:09 by Mach . 1
Mach Posted Friday at 16:19 Posted Friday at 16:19 Also recorded a single on Capital records in 1973 tittled "You cant get there from here" as Little Richard Jarvis. Seems to confirm for me on listening he was a White artist 1

Kenb Posted Friday at 17:39 Posted Friday at 17:39 (edited) Little Richie Jarvis (Nashville singer) did die in 1980 from the result of a car crash. He was white, and had what i can only describe as a 'hillbilly type beard". ( no i'm not 'beardest') and he is probably the same Little Richie Jarvis ( no beard) and The Upsetters. The Upsetters were Little Richard's backing band, same group or are you getting mixed up. This photo is on discogs 1
Mach Posted Friday at 19:19 Posted Friday at 19:19 Amazing!..looks like a cross between Bruce Forsyth and Rolf Harris 1

This photo is on discogs I don't know if it's the same Upsetters as with Little Richard...maybe it's just a quirky coincidence but he appeared as Little Richie Jarvis & Upsetters at the Jolly Rogers club (amonst others) 1965. 2

Alan T Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Great to finally put a face to one of my favourite oldies, thanks for the pics. There are issues and demos with the title "Heartbreak" which is the actual word Richie sings in the song rather than the more common and mostly used "Heartache"
