Guest marge Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 don't know if I was 15 or 16, round that time, 'one in ten' UB40, cos so many of my friends left school and signed on and I was one of the lucky ones and got a job in a factory at piece work rates. That record resonated for us... and I was thankful for that job.

Wilxy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Musically as a 16 year old, Black Music was my forte back then, and the track that stands out through varying reasons at the time was Freda Payne- Band of Gold, simply because it was one of the first tunes I remember on entering the beginning of the "real world"............... A long time ago and very surreal
Guest marion Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 'This kind of love' by Special Delivery....wicked little tune

Guest Dirk Tiggler Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 When I was 16 Stax stuff had hads its day & Motown had lost its edge - mainly over produced balads.
