Spirits recovering now, but definitely not dampened despite the weather yesterday...but it is a dale, and dales attract wet weather.

Yesterday was just pure sunshine music, for 10 hours. A truly remarkable and incredible response to the hard work put in behind the scenes, the advertising paid off and the music did what it said on the tin.

Many thanks to Jordan Wilson, Soul Sam, Tom Dacey, Bill ' Boogaloo' Murray and Tim Brown for hosting and creating such an impactful event, and an honour for me to contribute too.

Most of all, a heartfelt THANKYOU to our unfortunately incapacitated host, GINGER TAYLOR...i am sure we as a collective, wish him a speedy and successful recovery from his illness, and send all our love too.❤️❤️❤️

I've posted a review on the event's page on fb...it, due to the nature of an immensely hectic day and the fact it was held in two rooms, was unrealistic to curate the djs playlists....besides....we were all having so much fun, and there was a great age range present to. Needless to say, mine and our host at the hostelry went above and beyond in catering for folks needs....and the Thai food in the venue is stunning!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can, however, say that you or anyone who observed, took pics, danced or even just passed through, as folk invariably did during the course of the day, would testify to a no-holds-barred exhibition of some of the finest and rarest tuneage there is, in this part of the world.

Todmorden's soulful heritage, triumphed again, and several hundred folk will nod their heads in approval as a result. Above all Ginger Taylor and Tim Brown ARE the town's greatest assets...and it's heritage.

Here is what i played in the upstairs room - 8:00pm - 9:00pm ( Bayhorse Room )

Brothers Of Soul - I'll Be Grateful

Oliver Bush - I'll Make It Up To You

Art Neville - Hook, Line And Sinker

Valerie & Nick - I'll Find You

Margie Joseph - One More Chance

Bernard Williams - It's Needless To Say

The Silhouettes - Not Me Baby

Carol And Gerri - On You Heartache Looks Good

Kenny Gamble - The Jokes On You

The Trends - If You Don't Dig The Blues

Johnny Clyde Copeland - Coming To See About You

Gwen Davis - My Man Don't Think I Know

Sherli Allen - Think It Over

Gladys Tyler With Ray Scott And The Scotsmen - A Little Bitty Girl ( With A Great Big Mountain Of Pride )

Malcolm Hayes - Searchin' For My Baby

Marilyn Calloway - Shut Up

Inez Foxx - I Just Can't Put Him Down

The Mayfield Singers - Don't Start None

Jobete Strings - You Hit Me instr.

Tobi Lark - True True Love

The Professionals - That's Why I Love You

Maxine Brown - Let Me Give You My Lovin'

The Stoppers - Come Back Baby

Jeri Shaw - A Little Less Talk

Sadly, where we sat, we could hardly hear the music.....yards away from the DJ box, but behind the speakers. The room adjacent had music piped through, so that seemed ok...but full.

Tim told us to report it to the Manager, and when I asked him if he could turn on the  Speaker, he replied "NO".

Left after a few hours....the music selection was great...but as I say, we could hardly hear the tracks played.

Nice Thai  meal though

Yep, ridiculous really, especially for me early on. In the event it got turned up anyway after the lad in charge had left i think...he was saying it was too loud, probably because he couldn't hear what folk were ordering at the bar, he also said the speakers were vibrating though, i'd put that down to too much bass.

Sorry it disappointed in that respect, it did improve after, upstairs was very good as well. Possibly sit down and have a chat again with the manager because overall it was a success. Had Ginger been available it might have been ironed out sooner. It's the guy's equipment as well, upstairs and down and he set it all up so we didn't really have to mess about with anything, it's not satisfactory though, i agree. We'll try and resolve this issue at some point though, and preferably before the next date is announced.😉👍

Hello.

Just unfortunate . Was there 45 mins before start. Avoided table near bar...bound to get crowded.

Back room was freezing cold..door open. So we took seats near the DJ but behind speakers. But there was piped music in the back room, but our speaker was not working, and my request was, frankly, very rudely refused.

But I could tell the tunes were top quality, but some deck issues to.

I travelled from Manchester...with friends not really into Northern so future visits, as a 'team' doubtful.

I'd like to try again.
