It's what's known as a bit of banter where I come from , relating to the difficulty in catching the finished auction results in full as they've finished and before items are paid for whence they disappear from the listing (as happened with the Turbines 45 tonight) I was waiting for the auction to end before grabbing a screenshot to post in case Mr Zanetti wasn't able to do so as happens occasionally. Maybe you'd like to step up and give it a go yourself next week for the experience. Might I suggest you think of why platforms like this have a set of emojis to use in posts to denote a flavour of the nature of comments , and after you've done so please put me on your 'ignore' list to prevent your delicate personage from taking offence at what seems like every word I type , ta very much ... PS , my site numbers seem to suggest that "rarely says something nice!!!" is a somewhat inaccurate statement. Edited 20 hours ago by Woodbutcher 1
Dylan Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) Is that about right for turbines ? Maybe it’s not as rare as I thought it was. certainly is a great soul record and far worse sell for more. Edited 17 hours ago by Dylan 1
Solidsoul Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Frank Lyndon "Don't Go Away Baby" - Uptown. A great Northern Soul allnighter record which was played a lot in Mr M's as well as the main hall at the Wigan Casino allnighters. Although at £415, it is the highest price I have ever seen it go for! The great Younghearts and the Van Dykes got more attention at Wigan, but are still about the usual price. I agree it’s a top tune, and certainly rarer than a lot of stuff of similar money, however I reckon it’s not a dj driven 45?
Stanley Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago turbines is a rare 45 ,and i believe totally underplayed maybe because not many have it. i think a steal on the auction a copy recently sold for 2500k in ex condition.
Ian Parker Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago whoever paid £415 for frank lyndon, needs a heqd shake . i sold mine for 70, during lockdown, paid 30 for it, 2 years previous. strange how that fetched double the amount for the younghearts and van dykes.... the strange world etc 1

If you are on Johns Email list you get an email showing the auction items at around 17:15 you can click on them individually later and see the results i did at 6.30 tonight so there's no need to sit there sweating like Zanetti lol I think most are finished by 6:15 anyway so what's the rush 1

You can't afford to wait until 6:15 because as soon as an item's been paid for it gets wiped off the page , some items sit for a good while but a lot get cleared quite quickly , which is why we both missed the Turbines as I said earlier. 1

That backs up what I suspected. I don’t remember seeing loads on open market and ad it’s really good it did seem a good price. crazy when you start thinking 1k + is a good price

Nice record & definitely rare, but never been a 2.5K record. Guess last night showed its real value. A quick search shows it selling on a leading dealers site for £1100 not that long ago. 1
