Bizarre. Great record. Very rare. Buyers becoming very wary with all these 1K, 2K, 3K sounds popping up everywhere.

There’s a lot of high priced 45’s sitting on lists, could those who can afford already have these records if so will prices fall slightly as dealers won’t want stock sitting around.

could well be a combination of a) top end collectors more and more having accumulated what they were looking hence not buying that much (anymore)  b) too much supply of high end items currently in general and c) of course less disposable income on collectors side in general

The old guard comfortable with paying big money for what they wanted are all getting old now and how many of the next generation are paying these prices ? They can no doubt fill the floor with several records costing far less that are just as exciting.

Could it have anything to do with the amount of boots already sold , or reissue's and the younger generation are happier paying a tenner for a copy ?

Boots and reissues never impacted prices when I was collecting.

But it could be playing a part now ?

From the very early days , when we where young , apprentices both in jobs & the Northern Soul scene we all at some time bought boots , reissue's, along side any originals we could afford which where a lot cheaper, long before the internet etc , it's a wonder any youthful types would want to engage with a scene , with the price of records these days , when downloads and boots are so much cheaper . It probably appears to the younger generation that they're not buying a record , but a piece of art from Sotheby's, and they simply can't afford it. Or am I overthinking it , by the way I bought a copy of the reissue because I thought it was legite & £9.99 Inc p+p .

I wouldn’t class it as very rare these days, rare yes but surely enough copies have been turned up now to put people off these super high starting prices?

Wow cheapest I've seen people's choice for years normally 800 upwards ??

It was not in mint- condition, so that could be a factor with the price.

Ahh i didnt look at the rudy 45,i stand corrected! Then maybe if the peoples choice was a tad tired then 650 is about right, cos I reckon a nice copy is 800/900 quid tops?
