God ! We are losing so many of the greats this year aren’t we ! So sad - RIP Randy 👍

Another big loss made so many great soul songs.  RIP.

 

 

Just found out about this very very sad, for me one of the great voices.  R.I.P Randy.

Sad news indeed. So grateful for the music and so glad that some well deserved recent success was achieved with Ten-63
 

“I’d rather hurt myself” will never not be in my top 5.

Very sad news. The signs were there when he toured late last year, but still a shock.

His gig at the Shaw Theatre near Euston in the late 80s was one of the best I’ve ever seen. This one has always been special

 

 

I was lucky  to meet Randy  via Tats several times , He was so passionate about his Music, and keep performing, this was one very special Moment in Blackpool

This is really sad, he's one of those artists, that holds a special place in everyone's heart. He was such a s brilliant singer, and by the look of it, had a great personality.

Someone has to put up this Modern Soul classic. 

'If It's Love That You Want' is great from the 1981 album, You're So Good, Just Can't Get Up Off Your Love, I'm Here, his version of Are You Lonely are all wonderful. There are lots of great choices in addition to the Welcome to my Room and Midnight Desire albums (which are essential and available together on a now deleted CD by Expansion that would be good to reissue).

I put Randy Brown on random in my online music collection last night and the first track that played was Sweet, Sweet Darling I was looking at onscreen at the top of the thread. Curious!

So sad that Randy has died at a comparatively young age;  sincere condolences to his close family and friends.  

Such a great voice with a series of first rate songs and albums, including my all time favourite "I'd Rather Hurt Myself (Than Hurt You)", cited by Shinehead and Jaco above.  

A close second is appropriately "The Next Best Thing To Being There", here in its full glory.
