Help on A-Blues Description

Hello all,

I am trying to find a summary description of Amphetamine Blues for a book.

Mods will probably move this somewhere else, but to me its a part of the scenes history and intrinsically connected to it its all about soul: despite the clean up of image operations (re-writing of history, or omissions made) that are taking place in various quarters.

Anyway, I seem to remember they turn my S--T white on many occasions and they were often called Strychnine Blues.

Can anyone point me to any official descriptions etc?

Much appreciated

Strychnine Blues - usually called blueys then you would ask were they Stychnine Blues - 50p each - buzz was the word but not great for dancing also if you sat down you kind of couldn’t be bothered to get up - but you were off ur head - I took 6 at Yate once not clever sat at a table all night blocked while people rushed around finding me sleeping tabs or babs to bring me down.

they were only sold for about 6 - 8 months great for pub beer heads - Sulphate was in short supply - however when the next batch came through (usually the Welsh connection) thouse Strychnine Blues faded out - we still talk about them today and the thermos flask which was stashed with them buried in a garden somewhere

big give away was white foam at the edge of ur mouth 😂🤣

😳Eyes open like really open

Approx year 77 - I use to knock them out to the local pub - Hells Angles loved them

rumoured to contain rat poison

Just as a side note the image attached is the closest I could find - I can’t remember a score line in the pills they were solid - the specks on the picture were darker in real life and odd shapes - when walking around with the pills for a few minutes in ur pocket loose and with you’re sweaty hands in you’re pockets - yes it did turn you’re fingers blue 😂🤣
